Package: python-mode Version: 4.70-1 Severity: normal *** Please type your report below this line ***
Emacs can't open .po or .pot files after installing python-mode. For example, make an empty file called foo.po in /tmp and either try to open it using C-x C-f, or passing /tmp/foo.po to emacs on the command line. Either way, emacs complains with a message "vc-file-clearprops: Wrong type argument: stringp, nil" in the *Messages* buffer and refuses to open the file. This also happens with the .po files and .pot file in the po/ subdirectory of thuban-1.0's source package. Removing python-mode makes the problem go away. Reinstalling python-mode makes the problem come back.
