Paged output would be the default; to disable it create an ldapvirc with something like: profile default ldap-conf: yes unpaged-help: yes If you really must make it the default, you could even install that as /etc/ldapvi.conf Would that be sufficient for all of you, or is it still not "good enough"? d.
