Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.13-5

I have no audio with my Lenovo 3000 n100 laptop. Some googling on the subject has allowed me to solve this problem by applying a patch https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/file_download.php?file_id=1955&type=bug to the alsa-base package after recompiling newer version of alsa-base, alsa-utils, and alsa-libs.
I know that upstream is aware of this:
https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=2725

Also there is a very helpful Ubuntu bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/107821

Also it sounds like Ubuntu has fixed this in Gutsy but it doesn't say how. Kernel information: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -r
2.6.21-1-686

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)

Cheers,
Chris
