Package: iproute
Version: 20070313-1
Severity: minor

If I remove a primary address, iproute also deletes all secondary
addresses within the same CIDR network. This is not mentioned in the
manpage.

It would be nice if the manpage would warn of/hint at that, and even
better if it explained why this behaviour was chosen and why it
cannot be turned off. I would wish for an option that simply
promotes a secondary address to primary status when the primary is
removed.
