Tired of waiting, I built, packaged and now use my own Sylpheed 2.4.x (non-claws) version. It works perfectly whatever the theme. I just quickly reinstalled claws to test (sylpheed-claws-gtk2_2.6.0-1.1) and it didn't crash, but I can't guarantee I reinstalled and tried the exact same package combination as last time. Granted, some engines are not rock solid... but nearly all applications work fine with them, was sylpheed-claws doing nasty things with theming ? I don't exactly remember which theme I was using at the time of the bug report: it was either SmoothCL or Xfce-orange; I am using the latter now, and tried to start Claws under the former too (with success). -- Hope this helps, Fabien.
