Package: libcairo2 Version: 1.4.6-1.1 Severity: normal In evolution, when I print my address book, the print dialog never allows me to choose a paper size and instead defaults to A4. Specifically, the paper type drop-down box is disabled. Both the printer and /etc/papersize are correctly set to letter.
Since I am in the United States, A4 is an utterly useless default, since my printer has only letter paper. Consequently, I cannot print my addressbook sanely: each page has parts chopped off (as is typical when trying to print A4 documents on letter paper). This can be reproduced with print to file (PDF) or on the remote (IPP) printer. Obviously, printing to file also requires choosing a paper size, or else the rendering area will be inappropriately sized. I filed the bug on libcairo2 since the generated PDF claims to have cairo 1.4.6 as its generator. Note, however, that epiphany does it right; it uses letter as the size. If this is the wrong package, please do not hesitate to reassign it. While this is a cosmetic problem, it inhibits usage of the printing function in evolution for a significant portion of users, and so I filed it as normal, not minor. I can provide the PDF to the maintainers, but do not want to post my address book publicly, for obvious reasons. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-rc5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libcairo2 depends on: ii libc6 2.5-11 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.4.2-1.2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.2.1-6 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libpng12-0 1.2.15~beta5-2 PNG library - runtime ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.2-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-15 compression library - runtime libcairo2 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 713 440 7475 | http://crustytoothpaste.ath.cx/~bmc | My opinion only Screw you, AACS LA: 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
