I am sorry, I fail to reproduce your bug - my sylpheed with libonig 5.5.2-1 works perfectly, even with your regexp pasted. I have just patched another libonig segfault (#426355), which will be uploaded as version 5.8.0-1 soon. It might be worth checking whether the new version fixes your problem. Please tell me.
