tag 417416 +fixed-upstream thanks I've tested latest binary bios from BOCHS cvs : http://bochs.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/bochs/bochs/bios/BIOS-bochs-latest?revision=1.147 and it solved the qemu problem.
To connect more closely this problem to bochs I think now that a more
straigforward workaround to make qemu work is overwriting
the /usr/share/bochs/BIOS-bochs-latest with the one from the cvs repo.
I'm marking this a solved upstream since I suppose that binary is taken from
bochs source and the bug will be finally solved when Debian package reach the
current cvs version.
