I do have the same problem. And I have in /etc/sympa/sympa.conf: pidfile /var/spool/sympa/sympa.pid Since this is a previous historical value of the parameter, it might be nice to warn the user of this error... it's quite annoying because you get a daily mail about the inability to restart Sympa (due to logrotate). Even better would be for the init script to use the parameter specified in the sympa.conf file. I don't see a good reason to have to indicate it two different places. This only lead to such stupid errors.
