When a recently purchased security generates its first dividend, a new Income account must be created to record this dividend. In the most recent version of gnucash, after the Income account is created, when one returns to the security register window and drops down the Account menu to try to select the newly created Income account, it is not visible. Trying to type in the Income account manually also fails.
