Package: python-sparse Version: 1.0.1-1 Severity: normal
I noticed that neither version 1.0-1 nor 1.0.1-1 of python-sparse package work with FiPy library (http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/fipy/). Any FiPy code crashes with errors (though different for python-sparse 1.0-1 and 1.0.1-1). FiPy developer guyer thinks they are related to PySparse. There is a ticket open on FiPy (http://matforge.org/fipy/ticket/131) which describes the problem in more detail. I would like to point out that upstream (PySparse 1.0.1 from sourceforge) being installed manually (with "python setup.py install") seems to work nicely together with FiPy. This makes me think that the problem is with the Debian package rather than with FiPy or PySparse upstream. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (990, 'stable'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages python-sparse depends on: ii atlas3-sse2 [liblapack.s 3.6.0-20.6 Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra ii lapack3 [liblapack.so.3] 3.0.20000531a-6 library of linear algebra routines ii libc6 2.5-9+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libg2c0 1:3.4.6-5 Runtime library for GNU Fortran 77 ii python 2.4.4-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.5.14 register and build utility for Pyt ii refblas3 [libblas.so.3] 1.2-8 Basic Linear Algebra Subroutines 3 python-sparse recommends no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
