Package: python-sparse
Version: 1.0.1-1
Severity: normal

I noticed that neither version 1.0-1 nor 1.0.1-1 of python-sparse
package work with FiPy library (http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/fipy/).
Any FiPy code crashes with errors (though different for python-sparse
1.0-1 and 1.0.1-1). FiPy developer guyer thinks they are related to
PySparse.

There is a ticket open on FiPy (http://matforge.org/fipy/ticket/131)
which describes the problem in more detail.

I would like to point out that upstream (PySparse 1.0.1 from
sourceforge) being installed manually (with "python setup.py install")
seems to work nicely together with FiPy.

This makes me think that the problem is with the Debian package rather
than with FiPy or PySparse upstream.
