Please try something: *First step* backup your $HOME/.thunderbird and $HOME/.mozilla-thunderbird directories. *Second step* remove either one and create a link that points to the other: Option 1: rm -r $HOME/.thunderbird; ln -s $HOME/.mozilla-thunderbird $HOME/.thunderbird Option 2: rm -r $HOME/.mozilla-thunderbird; ln -s $HOME/.thunderbird $HOME/.mozilla-thunderbird please let me know if any of these 2 options cures you.
