I can now reproduce the problem even without setf tex or let tex_flavor. Args. Now get ready for something weird: vim diffusions.tex --> this errors. vim -u ~/.vimrc diffusions.tex --> this works. But ~/.vim/after/syntax/tex.vim is still processed.
