[Daniel Jacobowitz] > No, it is not OK to close this bug report; can you reproduce it with > a locale that you've actually got?
No, I can't reproduce this with any of the 21 locales which 'locale -a' lists on my system. That includes locales using ASCII, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-2, ISO-8859-15, and UTF-8. What character encoding does "en_US" represent, anyway? I'm curious. I suppose you can find out by reading /etc/locale.gen. Alternatively, run some non-ASCII text through "iconv -t utf-8" and see what iconv converts it from. -- Peter Samuelson | org-tld!p12n!peter | http://p12n.org/
