Hello, I've modified the patch mentioned in the bug tracker to the recent /etc/init.d/lirc and it works great. Note that you can now set the startup of irexec with the parameter in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf ala "START_LIREXEC=true". Works for me and makes life easier!
