Package: nvidia-glx Version: 1.0.6111-1 Followup-For: Bug #290778 A couple of months ago, two events have happened not far from one another:
1) I have upgraded the kernel from 2.6.8-1-686 to 2.6.8-2-686. 2) I have downgraded the card from 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 8x] (rev c1) to 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV11 [GeForce2 MX/MX 400] (rev a1) (because the former's cooling fan was way too noisy). Since then, I am unable to reproduce the bug.
