Hi, having libhal1 depend on HAL is no solution either as hal is uninstallable on many buildds because of misconfigurations (hald needs /sys and /proc mounted). This currently prevents another package of mine from being built as one of it's dependend libraries depends on hal.
The solution would either be to add the dependency in every package that depends on something that needs hal but nothing build depends on it or to fix all buildds to either make it possible to run hal or to setup the daemon startup policy to _not_ start any daemons.
