Package: fai-server
Version: 3.1.8
Severity: normal
Prior to setting up fai-server on my server (which I care about), I
tried installing it on a workstation (which can burst into flames, for
all I care), in case fai-server did something silly. I found the
following:
Setting up fai-server (3.1.8) ...
mkdir: cannot create directory `/srv/tftp': Permission denied
dpkg: error processing fai-server (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Setting up rsh-server (0.17-13) ...
Setting up tftpd-hpa (0.43-1.1) ...
tftpd-hpa disabled in /etc/default/tftpd-hpa
Errors were encountered while processing:
fai-server
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
Setting up fai-server (3.1.8) ...

dpkg: error processing fai-server (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Press return to continue.
fai-server assumes /srv is writable, this is not the case on my
workstation where /srv is a root-squashed nfs mount. I'm not sure
which one of us is doing the Wrong Thing.
See http://bugs.debian.org/412820 for a similar bug under vsftpd.
