No, I didn't forward it, but I think it's resolved and has nothing to do with the driver finally. I've been told to try the "noapic" kernel option in grub and I didn't experience any freeze yet with it. I planned to do more extensive tests to be sure of that, but I think it's fine anyway. So you can close this bug, and I would reopen it in case I get some freezes again. I have know idea why the "noapic" option resolved it.
