Please add the functionality to invoke
gnome-app-install when no application is known for this file.
There is a patch for this in Ubuntu, called 81_gnome-app-install.patch
And please also add a recommends to gnome-app-install.
Attached is the patch included in Ubuntu's 2.19.5-0ubuntu2.
Urgh. I don't like the idea of launching gnome-app-install
unconditionally at all. This sounds like something which will, at best,
annoy users.
Instead, I'd like to see this integrated in libeel's "run with
application" dialog; available packages should be added to the list with
an option to install them.
That sounds good, but I think it would result
in too much duplicated work.
Simply adding a clickable textlabel with "Search for software"
which starts gnome-app-install would be better.
Or having gnome-app-install listed in the applications list
as "Search other applications..."
You can re-assign it if you like.
