The change I was thinking of was applied to emsource - I've ported it now to emchain and the fix will be in emdebian-tools 0.3.1 which is due to be uploaded to Emdebian today or tomorrow.
The bug will need to remain open until 0.4.0 is uploaded to Debian but emdebian-tools adds the Emdebian repository to your apt sources list upon installation so all emdebian-tools users will get the 0.3.1 package in the normal apt-get update && apt-get upgrade cycle. There may be a couple more interim Emdebian releases before 0.4.0 is uploaded.
