According to
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/g/gmp/gmp_4.1.4-6/libgmp3.copyright
libgmp3 is under the LGPL, which I suppose would make this legal for
Debian to distrubute (though ask on -legal if you have any doubts, of
course, its early in the morning here).

I too would like to see this extension. PHP4 doesn't even seem able to
deal (easily) with 64-bit ints w/o it...
