Does this problem still persist?

It could be a problem related to the size of the buffer or the audio
rate. Please edit your ~/.neverball/neverballrc and change the value of
"audio_buff" to 1024 and "audio_rate" to 22050, and run the game again
to see if that helps.

If it still fails, it would be interesting if you could try this patch[1]
to help diagnose the problem.

  1. http://ettin.org/pub/debian/neverball/print_audio_err.patch

I have built an i386 package[2] enabling this patch so that it is easier
for you to test. You only need to download and install neverball[2]
(«dpkg -i neverball_1.4.0-2~audiodbg_i386.deb»).

  3. http://ettin.org/pub/debian/neverball/neverball_1.4.0-2~audiodbg_i386.deb

Thanks.
