If you can't remember the message, spotting the exact place the bug lies will be tricky, I'm afraid. We also need to know what exact version of D-I you were using. Was it a standard Debian Etch CD? Are you in position to reproduce this bug (say, with a daily build)? If not, spotting the bug will be *very* tricky. --
