Thanks for the info. I see from the log you included that debian.rules
uses 'install -s' to install the binaries. I believe removing the -s
option in those calls should fix the problem. I assume calling dh_strip
with no arguments in debian.rules is sufficient for correct stripping:
let me know otherwise.

I have an out-of-country visitor so I won't get around to doing an
upload until the following weekend. If you don't mind waiting a little I
will upload the fix , otherwise do a NMU.
