Package: msmtp Version: 1.4.12-1 Severity: normal
I use msmtp through mutt (set sendmail=...). A recent msmtp upgrade rendered my email broken (silently). Nothing was printed to the log file. I had to first determine that msmtp was the problem when my receipients did not receive their emails. Then I had to run msmtp on the command line, to find out that the tls_trust_file/tls_certcheck behavior had changed during last upgrade, to require one or the other options to be set. Problems like this should be printed to the log file if it is enabled... silent failures are annoying :-) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.1 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages msmtp depends on: ii debconf 1.5.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.6-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcomer 1.39+1.40-WIP-2006.11.14+dfsg-2 common error description library ii libgcryp 1.2.4-2 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libgnutl 1.6.3-1 the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libgpg-e 1.4-2 library for common error values an ii libgsasl 0.2.12-1+b1 GNU SASL library ii libidn11 0.6.5-1 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libkrb53 1.6.dfsg.1-6 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libtasn1 0.3.9-1 Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii ucf 3.001 Update Configuration File: preserv ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-5 compression library - runtime msmtp recommends no packages. -- debconf information: msmtp/tls: false msmtp/maildomain: msmtp/port: 25 msmtp/host: * msmtp/sysconfig: false msmtp/auto_from: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
