Package: libncurses5 Version: 5.6+20070716-1 This problem could easily be an issue with acroread version 7.0.9 (AdobeReader_enu-7.0.9-1.i386.tar.gz). I appoligize if this is the case. I have no way of telling which is the cause of the SIGSEGV.
After upgrading libncurses5 to version 5.6+20070716-1, acroread no longer worked. If I changed the /lib directory from: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Aug 13 08:39 libncurses.so.5 -> libncurses.so.5.6 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 272376 Jul 16 21:18 libncurses.so.5.6 to: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Aug 13 08:39 libncurses.so.5 -> libncurses.so.5.5 -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 263040 Aug 13 08:37 libncurses.so.5.5 It then worked.
