If you don't want to go to the 1.99 series, which seem to be developer releases, 1.118 should do fine. I was able to very easily create a package of 1.118 using uupdate. The test suite needs Test::Object in the new version, so I went ahead and packaged that and have already uploaded it to NEW. (And http://kitenet.net/~joey/debian/unstable/)
