I don't think it's a good idea to use nginx 0.6 -- at least not now. I might upload 0.6 to experimental in the near future (I'm not a DD yet, so I have to discuss it with my sponsors and so on) OTOH, nginx moves very quickly (unless Igor's on vacation, of course) and it makes very little sense to follow its pace of development, since sometimes releases are made within less than a week.
