Works like a charm:
remaxp:~# resize2fs /dev/system_vg/media_lv
resize2fs 1.40-WIP (14-Nov-2006)
Resizing the filesystem on /dev/system_vg/media_lv to 17039360 (4k) blocks.
The filesystem on /dev/system_vg/media_lv is now 17039360 blocks long.

remaxp:~# mount /dev/system_vg/media_lv
kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3 FS on dm-4, internal journal
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.

I think you should either print an informative message (at least in
case of problems!) or at least mention resize2fs in the man page for
ext2resize. (Or stop shipping it, but then I don't know about
ext2prepare, so ignore this). Even if upstream might disklike such a
notice, but our users are our priorities, arn't they?

Greetings

          Helge
