Package: geotoad Version: 3.9.0-5 Severity: normal
I don't know whether geotoad is still maintained, the last version is quite old. When calling geotoad with the following arguments, i get a GPX-file as result, which contains some bad characters, so it cannot be imported into the Garmin software or other GPX-capable software (like GPXView on my PDA). GPSBabel is also not able to convert the resulting GPX-File. geotoad -u myuser -p mypass --queryType=coord --distanceMax=10 'N49 26.850 E011 04.142' Reason seems to be this cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCT6CY Probably there is nonsense stored in geocaching.com's database, geotoad produces this line in the GPX-File: <groundspeak:long_description html="False"> [img] ^S!?C?</groundspeak:long_description> Correct would be: <groundspeak:long_description html="False"> [img] </groundspeak:long_description> After manually correcting this line, everything is fine. Garmin, GPXView and gpsbabel work perfectly. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_de, LC_CTYPE=de_de (charmap=locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to de_DE) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages geotoad depends on: ii ruby 1.8.2-1 An interpreter of object-oriented Versions of packages geotoad recommends: ii gpsbabel 1.3.3-2 GPS file conversion plus transfer -- debconf information: perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: LANGUAGE = (unset), LC_ALL = "de_DE", LANG = "de_de" are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C"). locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
