Package: eric Version: 3.9.5-1 Severity: normal The eric GUI has an item help | helpviewer. This brings up an empty window.
Choosing one of the later topics (e.g., help | eric api documentation) launches another help viewer; it does not reuse the existing one. Hitting F1 (shortcut for help | helpviewer) while on python code also brings up an empty viewer (I thought it might bring up context sensitve help, e.g. hit F1 while on the word "class" in the source window gets you python docs on classes.) I was hoping that help | helpviewer would give me documenation on the application (the IDE) itself. There does not seem to be such documentation; perhaps it doesn't exist upstream (upstream has a wiki http://ericide.python-hosting.com/wiki/Doc identified as a "work in progress"). Failing adequate documenation, perhaps the menu item and the shortcut should be removed. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (990, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages eric depends on: ii bicyclerepair 0.9-4.1 A refactoring tool for python ii python 2.4.4-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.5.14 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-qt3 3.16-1.2 Qt3 bindings for Python ii python-qtext 3.16-1.2 Qt extensions for PyQt Versions of packages eric recommends: ii eric-api-files 3.9.5-1 API description files for use with ii libqt3-i18n 3:3.3.7-6 i18n files for Qt3 library ii python-kde3 3.15.2+20060422-3 KDE3 bindings for Python ii python-xml 0.8.4-8 XML tools for Python -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
