Package: cdparanoia Version: 3.10+debian~pre0-5 When trying to rip a cd with Jack using Cdparanoia and my Plextor PX-40tsi I get 100% CPU load and failure on the ripping of the first track. Then it stalls on the second track (keeping the full CPU load). I have a Teac cd burner on the same SCSI and it rips fine using the exact same procedure, so it must be the PX-40tsi. I also tried cdda2wav and it worked with the Plextor and Jack. This leads me to the conclusion that Cdparanoia and the PX-40tsi (I have more than one with different firmware versions and they all show the same problem) don't like each other. I used the same combiniation in Etch about a year ago and it worked fine. So the problem must be a recent one. I just upgraded to Lenny. I use the Debian sources to build myself a kernel. Currently that is 2.6.21.
