Package: pdns-recursor Version: 3.1.4-4 Severity: minor pdns_recursor has daemon=yes as default configuration, it seems. This means that it's not possible to debug it from the command line without changing the configuration:
seamus# /usr/sbin/pdns_recursor --trace Aug 29 10:51:08 PowerDNS recursor 3.1.4 (C) 2001-2006 PowerDNS.COM BV (Aug 17 2007, 09:16:28, gcc 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)) starting up Aug 29 10:51:08 PowerDNS comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. Since it makes little sense to say daemon=no in the configuration file, I suggest that pdns_recursor should, by default, *not* daemonise. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-1-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- .''`. martin f. krafft <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : :' : proud Debian developer, author, administrator, and user `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck - http://debiansystem.info `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems
