This bug isn't fixed yet.

If you specify a path that includes a (leading, at the very least) symlink, gthumb will not show thumbnails. Instead, you get lots of these:

** (gthumb:22288): WARNING **: Too many links

In my case, /home points to export/home:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /home
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 2007-04-29 17:19 /home -> export/home

So gthumb fails to show thumbnails when I give it an argument of /home/kevin/pics but shows them fine when I give it an argument of /export/home/kevin/pics.

I'm currently running version 2.10.5-2 of gthumb:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l gthumb
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name           Version        Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii gthumb 3:2.10.5-2 an image viewer and browser
