Since yesterday, I have the ability to allow replacement ftp.ca.d.o sites to be tested, so we can move further with the process. I'm sorry for not being more forthcoming regarding this whole issue, but I tried to focus my attention at clearing the showstopper bugs that we had in our procedures so that we can fix this properly. Let me recap the offers: * In October 2002, William F. Maton Sotomayor nominated ftp3.nrc.ca for ftp.ca.d.o. This site was vetted by me and brought up to standard by February 2003. It was not made an official mirror due to our internal problems. William repeated his query in April 2006. * In November 2003, Simon Valiquette nominated gulus.usherbrooke.ca for the same alias. It was initially vetted by me, Simon repeated his query in April and June 2004, by which time the site was ready (IIRC). It's been stuck since then, and Simon repeated his query in November 2006. * In September 2005, Rafal Rzeczkowski nominated debian.mirror.rafal.ca for the same. Simon Paillard vetted the site, but there's no clear record of a recommendation by October 2006. * In May 2006, Simon Boulet nominated mirrors.iweb.ca for the same. I confirmed that they're ready in June 2007, with Jean-Francois Chevrette. Now that I got all that straight, let's try to forget the awful parts of that history ;( Ideally, ftp.ca.d.o should be served by more than one site, and the two (or more) sites should be pushed from the same top-level site. The candidate sites that are left over should be pushed from those which do become ftp.ca.d.o, so they become push-secondary (which really is as good as push-primary, for all practical intents and purposes). Because the nrc.ca offer is the longest outstanding, I'm going to first check with that mirror if they're still all right. -- Josip Rodin [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
