retitle 414784 puttygen: requires a final newline thanks Actually it seems this was not an end of every line issue but just an end of the file issue. I think that I didn't actually run sed -i -e 's/\r$//' but rather just opened the thing in vim and saved it. The file size is one byte larger due to an added \n as the last byte, and then puttygen accepts the file.
