Could you check that your soundcard is not managed by the alsa snd-ice1724 driver ? There are reports of wine freezing the computer when this driver is used. If so as a temporary workaround you can move /usr/lib/wine/wineoss.drv.so somewhere else and run winecfg to choose alsa in the sound section.
