It's very simple.
a) Build your package once (but do *not* upload yet)
b) for i in debian/po/*.po; do $EDITOR $i; done
Now search for "fuzzy". If you can fix the translated string beneath
(e.g. obvious fixes like changed numbers) then simply do it by
applying your change (found in the msgid line) to the translation
(found in the msgstr line).
This saves translators and you (processing of updated files, ...)
lots of time. Save the file.
c) Rebuild your package again. If everything went well, you may now
upload.

I don't know the circumstances, but you might open an RC bug to
prevent this as well.

Please commit trivial changes yourself. If you feel unsure with a
change, then of course ask the translator (see below).

Just a hint: Usually it saves time, if calls for updates always
include the po file in question. See podebconf-report-po(1) for
details.
