Hi Mr. Loiic, thanks a lot You were right. There were double links to the same libraries one in /usr/lib and one in /usr/local/lib but only the second (older) was working. I cannot figure how it happened. I don't install rpm packages, in case I use alien. I apologize for annoying you with a so silly question. Sincerely your David
