Package: dovecot-common
Version: 1:1.0.3-3
Followup-For: Bug #441032

I don't know if I should open another bug report or if this is similar enough
to add here.
I run dovecot through inetd (with the hopes of using denyhosts and/or
/etc/hosts.deny eventually)

I also use a log file, instead of syslog (though I'll probably switch now that
I have gotten this
bug).

When the logs are rotated, the dovecot processes are not restarted, so they
continue to write
to dovecot.log.0. Maybe that is just the way it is, but I'd figured I'd
mention it in case
someone cares about that.
