I second this: in Vietnam too we really need the last version (now 1.4.0) to be packaged! The last version brings long awaited facility to vietnamese input: typing the tone mark at the end of the word. Vietnamese people have had this in Windows for almost 10 years (may be more) !
And the last m17n-db also brings more languages support. So, please, package the 1.4.0 ! It will require scim-m17n 0.2.2 (already in Lenny/Sid) which itself require scim >= 1.4.6 (Lenny/Sid have 1.4.7).
