So, without Xinerama, I don't really know anymore what the right thing to do is: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2007-September/028392.html What happens is that jabref's the splash screen appears in the logical middle of the whole screen, which in my case means it'll show up half on one and half on the other screen. However, there is no longer a concept of heads, so I am not sure what the solution would be (see above post). Ideally, it should show up centred on the physical screen containing the (primary) mouse pointer. The second thing is that jabref seems to store and restore geometry information: size and position.
