I guess I don't have much of a say here. I will nevertheless express my frustration at seeing a behavior that I have relied on suddenly change in a new version without any comment in the changelog. Up to now I could always use CTRL-C instead of ESC, which is much more conveniently located.
Also, if the new behavior is the intended behavior, it is rather surprising that doing map <C-C> <nop> map! <C-C> <nop> unmap <C-C> unmap! <C-C> reverts to the old behavior. Please don't correct this as I am happy to be able to revert to the old behavior. :) Quoted from Debian Bug Tracking System on Thu, Sep 20, 2007 at 03:30:03PM +0000. > This is an automatic notification regarding your Bug report > which was filed against the vim package: > > #422575: vim: Undocumented change in CTRL-C behavior when doing block edits > in 7.0 > > It has been closed by James Vega <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. > > Their explanation is attached below.
