Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.6.1-1
Severity: wishlist
When looking at new packages, I often copy the homepage URL from the
extended description area into a browser window using Screen's copy
mechanism (^A[). I place the cursor over the start of the URL, press
^M to set the mark, then use the vi-style $ binding to move the cursor
to the end of the line and press ^M again to add the region to the
clipboard.
Unfortunately, even when the entire extended description fits
onscreen, there is a one-character wide hatched character down the
extreme right of the extended description area. This means that
instead of say,
http://live.gnome.org/gbrainy
the clipboard contains
http://live.gnome.org/gbrainy ▒
I don't understand the purpose of this border character, but it looks
like it's intended to act as a scroll bar when the description area
doesn't all fit onscreen at once. Is it possible to disable this
"scroll bar", or to hide it when the entire extended description fits
onscreen at once?
