Hi, this bug is still there in Debian testing (Lenny) with Openoffice 2.2.1-8 and libfreetype-2.3.5-1+b1 : Openoffice UI fonts are still blurry as before with Openoffice 2.0.4. The workaround (i.e. compile the old debian freetype 2.1.10 library -- or one that has the bytecode interpreter enabled -- and copy libfreetype.so.6 and libfreetype.so.6.3.8 to /usr/lib/openoffice/program) fortunately worked for me.
