I have a problem with xscreensaver : it ignores the 'timeout' parameter
found in $HOME/.xscreensaver, and forced it to 1 minute, which is too
short and annoying.
I have this bug since Sarge, and its persists in Etch. I thought it was
related to bug #316931, so I compiled Lenny's version 5.03.2, but the
bug is always here.
If I run xscreensaver-demo, I get timeout preset to 1 minute. If change
timeout to another value (says 10 minutes) and quit, I can see this new
value in .xscreensaver :
$ grep timeout .xscreensaver
timeout: 0:10:00
But if I run again xscreensaver-demo, I get timeout reset to 1 minute,
and moreover, if I wait 1 minute, the screensaver starts :-(
