Thunar is printing the following error messages to
stdout:
(thunar:4360): libxfce4util-CRITICAL **: Unable to
create base directory /home/oliver/.config/Thunar.
Saving to file /home/oliver/.config/Thunar/thunarrc is
likely to fail.
...
(thunar:4360): libxfce4util-CRITICAL **: Unable to
open file
/home/oliver/.config/Thunar/thunarrc.4360.tmp for
writing: file not found

After some investigation I found that ~/.config was
owned by root!! I have really no idea when and how
that happened. I am quite sure I did not do this
myself.
However, I guess we can close this bug report then.
