Hi,
It would be nice to autodetect gdialog as a higher priority alternative
to dialog and whiptail when under X: it's part of the default desktop
install and will display more nicely under such a setup than dialog.
Testing with DIALOG=gdialog showed a decent welcome screen, albeit with
some "\n" appearing in the text (that is one could actually read
backslash and n in the middle of the text), but I couldn't go to any of
the next dialogs.
