Hi Luca, please check your (nsswitch) configuration. You are probably getting the nss data from a different source than /etc/passwd (e.g. ldap). What does "getent passwd | grep hal" say? Using the chuid option of s-s-d is superfluous, as the hal (and dbus) daemon internally already call the chuid () syscall.
